Geothermal Design Services and Design Validation
Designing a full geothermal system is a tricky business. It’s still relatively new technology in Europe, and although many claim to be able to do it, in reality there are few specialised enough to get everything right first time.
LoopMaster has one of only two Certified Geo-Exchange Designers (CGD) in the UK on our team, Andy Howley, and he is the only one that sits on the Industry Standards Board as an expert advisor. CGD is the qualification standard gained via the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and the Association of Energy Engineers.
Designing the geothermal system isn’t just about inputting data into software. It is about working with the whole construction team to get the job done! We work with the Building Services Engineers, Builders, M&E contractors etc helping them all through the process. We understand buildings and how they should operate. We talk the same language and discuss ways of optimising the design of both the ground coupled side of things and how things work in the plant room.
When you choose to use the expertise of LoopMaster, you’ll find that nothing is left to chance, nothing is ever calculated using ‘rule of thumb’ and each and every part of the design can be explained and justified from the placement of pipes to the choice of pumps used.
Loopmaster have full CAD facility and all engineering drawings are three dimensional to ensure no conflict or interference is realised in limited plant room space.

Your Design
Experience tells us that there are many project teams who have, or are having, geothermal schemes installed and for one reason or another are not confident in how the works are progressing and are worried about the sustainability of the system. LoopMaster, however, demonstrate in a totally transparent manner, how and why decisions revolving around the design or drilling operations have been made.
It's this transparency that will give you, as our client, total confidence in our abilities. If you have already had your design completed but have had difficulties with the installer /designer or, as is often the case, you have been kept in the dark as to how the design was achieved, then you can take advantage of our design validation service before you proceed.
We are able to ascertain whether or not a design is acceptable and will actually satisfy the Employers Requirements (critical io planning requirement) and is sustainable for the design life required. It is far better to find out at this stage if a questionable design is in place rather than it becoming evident after the project is finished and the window of opportunity to put things right has passed.
