At what point does your geothermal consultant need to become involved?

Quite simply, your Geothermal Consultant should be in place from the beginning of any Geothermal heating and cooling project to prevent the incorrect specification of parts, equipment and materials, incorrect drilling depths, inefficient placement of boreholes … in fact, to ensure that everything is completed to ensure that the project is not only successful and efficient but doesn’t suffer from some of the huge delays and costs incurred due to lack of knowledge.

Here is a simplified process of a Commercial Building Development

Building Design Concept	-	Ideally this is where you should bring in your Geothermal Consultant.
Feasibility Process and Energy Strategy	-	Your Geothermal consultant should certainly be involved at this point.
Planning Granted	-	If it isn’t granted for any reason your scheme should be reassessed.
Main Contractor Appointed	-	The main contractor who will be sub-contracting the other specialist trades such as drillers.
Tender Process	-	Inviting tenders from specialist trades.
Demolition	-	If needed.
Re-Build	-	Sometimes we are called in at this point and often far too much money has been wasted and it’s difficult if not impossible to make changes.
